Delete your WizeList account
This page explains how to permanently delete your WizeList account and the data associated with it.
How to request deletion
Account deletion is handled by email request. There is no self-service delete button inside the app. Email us from the email address associated with your account:
Subject line: "Account deletion request". Include the email address registered with your WizeList account in the message body. We'll verify ownership (by replying to the email on file) and process the deletion within 14 days.
What gets deleted
- Your profile (display name, email, profile photo)
- Authentication data
- Shopping lists you own
- To-do lists you own
- Photos you uploaded (item photos, loyalty card photos, avatars)
- Your membership in shared lists, to-do lists, and groups
- Push notification tokens registered to your account
What is retained
Some data must remain after account deletion:
- Shared content: items, tasks, sessions, and notes you contributed to a shared list owned by another user remain on that list (the other owner has rights to that data). Your name is detached from those records.
- Anonymized crash reports: error logs in Sentry that don't contain personal data are retained for 90 days for engineering triage.
- Legal compliance: anonymized records required by tax / accounting law (none in WizeList today, but listed for future-proofing).
Once deleted
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. You cannot recover the account or any of its data after deletion. If you re-register with the same email later, you'll start with a fresh, empty account.
